A production of Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), Nahid was screened in the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival currently being held from 13 to 24 May 2015.
Shined the festival, Nahid received positive acclaims from reputable movie critics.
The film is so far sold in France (Momento Films International), Greece (StraDa Films), Spain (Caramel Films), Switzerland (Cineworks Films), Brazil (Tucuman Films) and Colombia (Cineplex Odeon Corporation).
United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Argentina, Turkey, Chile and Uruguay are the other countries that have expressed their willingness to distribute the Iranian film.
The film recounts the story of an Iranian woman Nahid, who has failed in her first marriage and is unable to express her love for the second time due to social conditions, while she is trying to get custody of her son after the divorce.
Nahid is produced by Bijan Emkanian and stars Sareh Bayat, Pejman Bazeghi and Purya Rahimi Sam.
